During that time I’ve cruised on many ships, ocean and river, large and small and from Carnival to Regent Seven Seas and had enriching experiences on all of them. Among the destinations visited include ski areas in many western states, spa experiences both in the US and Mexico, Europe, South America, Canada, Antarctica, Arctic, Africa, Egypt, China, Israel, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Southeast Asia and French Polynesia. Top travel hack/tip that you suggest to your clients?
Roll your clothes when packing. Be sure you have a change of clothes in your carry-on and if traveling with someone, a change in their suitcase too. Make a miniature copy of your itinerary with hotel names and tuck it inside your luggage tag and in your suitcase(s).
Do you have a travel ritual?
Books, books, books. I also to bring home disposable items like teas or coffee as gifts so the recipients don't have to display something I brought them.
What travel experience did you have that outdid your expectations and completely surprised you?
An African safari was my favorite experience. Seeing those baby lion cubs just four feet from our vehicle was truly a lifetime wish fulfilled. Also, the leopard who stopped right in front of us and was as scared as we were!
What is the most enlightening thing your travels have taught you?
Seeing other countries through the eyes of the local people has taught me how fortunate we are to live in the US, how difficult life is for so many people, and the beauty of distant lands.
